Welcome to Synergy Peak Performance Coaching, were the goal is to help you the athlete achieve your goals, increase your performance and realize maximum potential.
Every day athletes come up against hurdles in there playing careers, whether it be injury, recovery from injury or the mental setbacks/blocks that often occupany injury, or recovery, post injury and getting back to the sport they love!
This is why as in sport we have coaches to guide us and make decisions when as an athlete you may be taken over by pain or emotion or both.
Peak Performance coaching serves similar capacity in that being coached supports you in eliminating blocks to better performance at their source and in return allowing the freeing up of optimal amounts of mental and physical energy that can best be utilized in the recovery of an injury, or in the improvement of performance in your training for your sport.
“Ninety percent of this game is half mental” – Yogi Berra
It has been said that 80% of sport is mental and 20% is physical, as your peak performance coach it is my mission to make that 80% as strong as the 20%, thus making you a peak performer on the ice, on the field, or on the court!
It is also a fact that the stronger we are mentally we decrease the risk of injury. When there are holes in your mental energy, it is like water in a bucket with a hole. The water is not contained and like your mindset, if there is a leak in it, it will run out a lot quicker than if we have a bucket or mindset that is solid and leak free!

- viewing the client as creative, resourceful and whole and carrying the keys to the resolution of a given situation within him or herself at all times
- works with client’s agenda at all times
- challenging the client to stretch him or herself beyond typical behavior and performance patterns, and helping identifying limiting patterns.
- working co-creatively with the client at all times, to achieve peak performance.
- acknowledging the locus of power for improvement not in a model or process, but in the effective relationship of coach and client.
- acknowledging the importance and impact of the mindset, belief systems, levels of self awareness, and Current Self Image that both parties have on nurturing peak outcomes.
- focusing not on what is wrong and needs to be adjusted, but rather on what is working and facilitating unprecedented success from this foundation of the client’s strengths rather then weakness.
Sports Psychologist or Peak Performance Coach?
While sport psychology has historically been involved primarily in the study and assessment of behavior in sport, its applications have more recently begun to be recognized for improving athletic performance. Concepts such as “imagery,” “attention focus,” “intrinsic and extrinsic motivation,” “internal monologue” and “criticism” have allowed sport psychologists to work proactively with athletes to enhance their performance, primarily through improving mindset. Psychology works more on a premise that something is broken, were in coaching the focus is not what is broken, but what is working and how we can help the parts that may be moving slower to catch up with the the parts moving well and assist all to reach new levels of peak performance.
The focus and outcomes of advanced peak performance coaching sets it apart even from strength-based counselling and psychotherapeutic models, in the degree to which it does the following:
The Performance Coaching Difference
- focuses on present and future as opposed to past behaviour and performance.
- focuses on goal-setting and actualization of goals.
- relationships are structured so that the client understands all processes and modalities being implemented, giving the athlete more confidence in the value of the outcomes.
- emphasizes that a mutual commitment to values such as honesty and accountability are what make the coaching relationship effective
- focuses on helping the client to de-construct and replace residual and limiting beliefs in order to maximize performance.
- Work with the goals and the beliefs building a strong self image with clear vision and direction to achieve improved performance.
